Another repost/trip down memory lane. This demo was recorded in the Bracken basement and marks an amazing time in Bremerton/Olympia hardcore history. Nudes - Demo Tape

I already forget the first time I saw Nudes but I definitely enjoyed it. The music is fast and crazy, I love the riding on the toms fast beats. I can't make out individual tracks on the tape but they are all so awesome. What I think is the first track has some ginn riffage then transitions into what I think is the second (my personal favorite) with the aforementioned drum beat. The track is awesome, blitzing bass into chaotic drums, it almost falls apart then comes back together which is one of the best feelings you can get from hardcore music. The third track has a really catchy repetitive riff and seems to be about kids having kids for selfish reasons and fucking up their lives. The final one or two tracks are the usual crazy self hating types. Great, great. I'm excited to play with them again tomorrow.

Secret People - Tape 2012

Secret People toured up and played our house with ATSX. I heard that it was the dude from Right On's new band and was excited to check it out. You can check out some Right On stuff here, I used to love that band. The new band doesn't disappoint. The music is simply yet creative but I gotta give the tape some more listens to comment more on it I'm going mainly off what I remember from the show.

Vagrant - Demo 2012

The new Vagrant is awesome. The Krakdown turns Crumbsuckers of the Northwest if that makes any sense. Joe took over vocal duties for Riley and they took a much more metal direction. I saw the new lineup at a show in Seattle with Outlook and Nudes and was blown away. ATSX played with the new lineup on the 19th and it was great. The burnt lyric pages give a warm, personal touch.

Mondo Aggro - Tape 2010

God, Mondo Aggro was so good why did it have to end? Sorry it took me so long to put this one up I guess I overlooked it for a while. This second tape release has two re-recorded demo songs and six new songs! Download the demo here.
Charlie opens up with a "Be aggressive" chant straight into a self-proclaiming "Mondo-Aggro"; fuck yes. The beginning riff in "Selective Enforcement" reminds me a lot of Last Rights. As always Robert writes awesome snotty lyrics that make me laugh and get me fucking riled up. There are three anti-cop anthems and my favorite tracks lyrically are "Just Because" and "H.O.L.L.". "Reckless Behavior" has lyrical nods to Agression, In Stride, Holier Than Thou, and multiple HIV lines. Fuck yes this tape is great. Once again I apologize for it taking me so long to get it to you.

Also I forgot to mention, this is foot fetish records number one. The legendary band inspired a label that Miles aaalmost did. Yes. It will always live on in material form.

Turtle - Demo Tape

I came back from a trip to Wyoming with a surprise package in the mail. What I opened was a tape of a band that blew me away. Kayla, Colter and I sat in the living room and gave it a jam and had nothing but good things to say. The tape reminded me a lot of the Nihilistics in a couple of ways. Maybe it's coincidence because Adjustment was learning a Nihilistics cover today but the first track sure sounds like a "Death and Taxes" meets a Paranoid Time era Minutemen. The next track then blazes into the quientessential Nihilistics hammering drum beat that accompanies the classic 7" tracks "After Death", "No Friends", and "Kill Yourself". This track seems to be the punk dirge of tape which gives me a slow Flipper feel. The third track reminded me a lot of Olympia's HPP and the last two tracks blaze through as the fastest songs on the tape, sealing the deal for me. Thank you Ethan for your letter I fucking love your tape. These kids are holding it down in California seeing as they're only 13 and have more of a knowledge of what I feel hardcore should be then most of the people I've met down there. This really made my day.

I found some information on the internet which pronounces them a straight edge band; adding icing to the cake. Here is what they had to say about themselves:

Adjustment To Society

New Olympia Hardcore band. Adjustment to Society has only played a handful of shows but we are planning on recording and touring soon. Family House united bringing you some fast and furious hardcore the way it should be. This is also the final frontier for me seeing as I've never played guitar in a band before. Austin is also joining us of Scary Man fame... it's like Scary Man but better. We're playing tomorrow in Seattle and then the next day in Olympia with TRAINYARD by which time the new recordings should be floating around. Stay tuned for more from ATSX.
